TOOLING - 2nd Shift

Location: Oregon, IL.

BUSINESS CONTRIBUTION:

To build and maintain tooling and production aids for Oregon, Illinois Operations.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO :

  • Design and Produce Tooling (100%)
  • Build tooling and tooling components using machining, weld, and assembly equipment
  • Design and build simple tools and productions aids
  • Maintain and repair fixtures and dies
  • Record project labor hours and material consumption
  • Operate powered equipment such as hand, grinders, drills, etc.
  • Operate manual and programmable machine tools, including but not limited to mills, lathes, and grinders
  • Produce tooling parts and components to print specifications and within allowable tolerance
  • Communication and Documentation
  • Maintain open communications through formal and informal documents

EDUCATION:

  • High School Graduate or GED
  • Toolmaker certificate or journeyman card preferred
  • Associates Degree in Mechanical technology a plus

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • 3 to 5 years of manufacturing experience in a metal fabrication shop
  • Ability to read and understand blue prints
  • Ability to use precision measuring instruments
  • Able to complete responsibilities in a timely, professional and quality manner.
  • Solve problems analytically; search out relevant information and gauge its importance when making decisions
  • Effective written and oral communication skills; able to express oneself clearly and in technical and non-technical terms
  • Set a good example of personal integrity
  • Demonstrate ability and willingness to learn; seek out development activities to improve skills and increase knowledge; learn from other team members and own mistakes
  • Take initiative, seek and act on opportunities to improve organization performance
  • Ability to translate specific goals into action and follow through to achieve goals
  • Proficient in CNC Machine tool conversational programming
  • Experience with manual Machine tools
  • Ability to implement Lean principles in day to day activities.
