The Senior Vice President of Policy Technology (SVPPT) will be a member of the Senior Leadership Team and report directly to the Chief Operating Officer (COO) and in addition will have a strong working relationship with the Chief Risk Officer (CRO) to provide strategic oversight and policy direction for the Policy technology portfolio within all Policy Operations and related Departments. This Policy technology portfolio comprises the backbone of the Policy technology systems continuum (which includes customer portals, submission engines, quote management systems, policy administration systems (current and future state) and mission critical services that underwriting, auditing, loss prevention, marketing and other impacted stakeholders use on a daily basis. The SVPPT will streamline business and operational performance in the Policy Department, gain system efficiencies within Policy technology systems, and align partnered services within the greater organization's Information Technology Systems to eliminate redundancies and improve Policy performance and system functionality. The SVPPT will play a major role in the formulation, implementation, evaluation and innovation of future state Policy technology portfolio strategies and will have broad authority for recommending and implementing division-wide policies with significant impact on the Policy technology portfolio.

Position Requirements:

  • Extensive leadership experience in property/casualty insurance.
  • Significant operational experience in the Information Technology arena.
  • Possess exceptional technology skills and have a comprehensive understanding of the technology system development life cycle.
  • Outstanding financial and analytical skills.
  • Superior communication, organizational, change management and project management skills.
  • Demonstrated experience in understanding, interpreting and improving customer and system user experience.
  • Experienced in software development methodologies.
  • Proven ability to independently manage multiple priorities.
  • Ability to lead effectively and proactively within a team setting.
  • Capacity to actively engage and communicate with a wide variety of employees, senior leaders and external vendors to drive change and problem solve.
  • Skilled in researching, interpreting, and presenting data in a concise manner.
  • Occasional travel as required.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or MBA/Graduate degree
