The Department of Pediatrics at Dartmouth Health Childrens and The Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth seeks a proven leader to serve as the Section Chief of Pediatric Hospital Medicine. This individual will lead a Section of 11 faculty comprising more than 7 FTE. The successful candidate will have a national reputation in Pediatric Hospital Medicine and a proven track record in clinical program development along with scholarship in research, quality improvement, education, and/or advocacy. Board certification in Pediatrics is required with certification in Pediatric Hospital Medicine highly desirable.Dartmouth Health Childrens provides an extended system of care with primary, specialty, and advanced tertiary pediatric services, including an inpatient pediatric unit with PICU, level II Pediatric Trauma Center, and level IV NICU at its flagship Childrens Hospital at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center (CHaD) in Lebanon, New Hampshire. Dartmouth Health Childrens also operates a comprehensive ambulatory specialty center at the Dartmouth Hitchcock Clinic in Manchester, NH, and 10 pediatric primary care medical homes across the region. Dartmouth Health Childrens is committed to addressing racism and other forms of oppression that prevent all children and adolescents from living their healthiest, happiest lives.The Section of Pediatric Hospital Medicine is the primary admitting service to the CHaD Inpatient Unit, providing medical directorship, 24/7/365 in-house coverage, and supervision of pediatric residents. The Section also attends on and provides supervision and medical directorship for the Normal Newborn Nursery. The Section maintains a strong portfolio of health services research, quality improvement and de-implementation sciences, and innovations in the care of newborns exposed to opioids in utero as well as inpatients awaiting definitive psychiatric placement.Teaching medical students in all settings is expected, so eligibility for appointment to the faculty at The Geisel School of Medicine is required, at a rank commensurate with experience and curriculum vitae.
