RESPONSIBLEFOR:
The Licensed Practical Nurse providesnursing care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse orprovider to patients form birth through the lifecycle utilizing thenursing process in accordance with Piedmont Healthcares Mission andVision Statements; functions within the framework of their licenseand the policy and procedures of the organization and demonstratesprofessional growth and accountability. The Licensed PracticalNurse guides ancillary staff, collaborates with other health careprofessionals in the provision of quality nursing care. Qualifications:
MINIMUMEDUCATION REQUIRED:
Graduate of an LPNprogram
MINIMUM EXPERIENCEREQUIRED:
New graduates of an accreditednursing school are eligible.
MINIMUMLICENSURE/CERTIFICATION REQUIRED BYLAW:
Current License in the State ofGeorgia as a LPN or NLC/eNLC Multistate License.
BLScertification required
ADDITIONALQUALIFICATIONS:
Demonstrated clinicalcompetency in the specialty area applying forpreferred
Nursing Experience in Hospital SettingPreferred
If working in the Emergency Department, ALS/ACLSand PALS required
(LPNs new to specialty will completeapplicable certifications within 6 months of startdate)
Experienced Emergency Department nurses will have 6months to obtain the PALS certification.
