Memorial Healthcare System is seeking an experienced and dynamic physician leader for the role of Medical Director Scholarly Activity. The Medical Director will be responsible for optimizing research productivity and supporting the educational and programmatic objectives of the Office of Academic Affairs. Led by the Chief Academic Officer, the Office of Academic Affairs is comprised of Continuing Medical Education, Graduate Medical Education, and Undergraduate Medical Education. The physician will dedicate majority of their time to scholarly activity for GME programs and providing annual reports of scholarly activity conducted across specialties. The selected candidate will be expected to spend two (2) days per week in a clinical setting. Responsibilities also include collaboration with faculty, physicians, and staff in program department scholarly activity roles. Additionally, partnership with medical students, residents, fellows, and teaching faculty is expected and encouraged. The Medical Director will collaborate with the Office of Human Research (OHR), adhering to OHR and MHS IRB research SOPs. The ideal candidate should have excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with multiple departments and stakeholders across the healthcare system.

Memorial provides medical student education for approximately 300 students, and more than 10,000 hours of CME education annually.

Candidate Qualifications:

Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, or Med/Peds specialists
Minimum of three (3) years of post-training experience
Evidence of research productivity (15+ peer reviewed publications)
Experience with EPIC SlicerDicer in conducting research is beneficial but not required
Expertise in use of STATA, SAS, SPSS or other statistical software packages preferred but not required
Create, participate, and translate QI into scholarship
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage, track and summarize the scholarly activities of trainees and faculty
Ability to engage in scholarly activity with faculty across multiple specialties and trainees in various levels, including medical students, residents, residents, and fellows
