Duty Hours:

  • Mon-Sun 0700 to 1700. Night call 1700-0700.
  • The neonatologists are required to be on service 1 week (7 days) every academic block (13 blocks in 12 months) and up to 7 night shifts every academic block.
  • While on service the neonatologist will be expected to teach and mentor Pediatrics, OB-GYN, and Anesthesia residents, along with and Neonatology fellows during each of the academic blocks (13 blocks in 12 months).

Qualifications:

  • Completion of a minimum of three (3) years formal training (Fellowship) in Neonatal Perinatal Medicine Fellowship with Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) approved facility with Board Eligibility or Certification.
  • Actively seeking Board Certification (in process of becoming Board Certified within eighteen (18) months) or Board Certified in Neonatal Perinatal Medicine.
  • Possess experience in a Pediatric Residency Training Program and in a Neonatal Perinatal Medicine Fellowship Training Program as Consultant or residency instructor.
  • Possess and maintain a current valid unrestricted license to practice medicine in any state in the United Sates, The District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, or the Virgin Islands.
  • Possess and maintain a current Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) registration number to prescribe controlled substances. The medical license shall be from the state in which the contractor or contractors' employees are registered with the DEA.
  • Possess sufficient initiative, interpersonal relationship skills and social sensitivity such that he/she can relate constructively to a variety of patients from diverse backgrounds.
  • Maintain certification in Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), STABLE, Basic Life Support (BLS) and Pediatric Advance Life Support (PALS). BLS and PALS certification must be obtained through an American Heart Association and/or American Red Cross approved training program and maintain current status at all times while performing services under this contract.
