MRI Technologist I-III, Salary: $29.73 - $59.58/hour

The grade and salary of the position are based on specific criteria met within the qualifications of each level, relevant experience, skills, performance and internal equity. This position is eligible for shift differentials.

Shift: Evening shift: 3-12 hour shifts or 4-10 hour shifts (12:30pm - 11pm)

Location: Emory University Hospital

JOB DESCRIPTION

  • Operates MRI, power injector and other medical equipment to produce diagnostic scans in the MRI suite. Responsible for proper operation of imaging and specialty equipment as well as keeps abreast of uses of medical devices.
  • Provides quality care to the patients receiving MRI, diagnostic and interventional radiology procedures.
  • Assumes responsibility and provides direct care for all procedures performed in this area.
  • Assists in day to day supervision of department; coordinates in Level IV's absence.
  • Assists with patient and family education.
  • May support or assist in research and related activities.
  • Demonstrates an adequate knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy and physiology.
  • Provides more complex technical care necessary to meet identified patient needs.
  • Assists with performing and planning multiple diagnostic procedures in appropriate time sequence.
  • Acts as a resource for students and junior techs.
  • Regularly assumes responsibility and provides direct care for the more complex patients.
  • Provides assistance to colleagues in recognizing, interpreting, and managing unstable patient care situations.
  • Functions independently with little guidance from supervisor needed.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must be a graduate of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology and at a minimum be registered with the ARRT.
  • CPR certification required.
  • Must have a minimum of three (3) years experience with one (1) year in MR.
  • Advanced certification in MR is required.
  • Coordinates in supervisor's absence.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification in accordance with the American Heart Association required.
