Job Summary Under the direction of the Director of Financial Services and the Manager of the Office of Research and Engagement (ORE), the Finance and Research Coordinator will support the social justice mission of the College of Education by providing in-depth financial and data analytical support to promote strategic, data driven decisions and financial well-being. Provide services and supports that collaboratively advance the operation and smooth functioning of the College financial and research activities. Essential Functions.

Utilize a collaborative approach to engage faculty, staff, and students in all aspects of financial and research related matters in the college..

Create, implement, and maintain financial models and forecasts, strategic budget initiatives, and processes to develop a sustainable budget model that supports the College's mission..

Support the Director of Financial Services, by collaboratively building complex financial models to promote growth and stability across all funds and to assess the viability of revenue areas.

Create worksheets, tables and pivot charts to analyze data for salary, budget and revenue projections. Perform a wide variety of administrative financial functions on numerous accounts including, GOF, RTF, Gift, RRB, centers, endowments, journals and graduate revenue. Perform general ledger account reconciliations, budget realignments and transfers, process financial transactions for these funds, and other requests as needed by the Director of Financial Services..

Support the Manager of the college's Office of Research and Engagement (ORE) to advance office efficiencies and effectiveness with respect to pre-award and post-award activities including special projects in the ORE. Work in collaboration with the ORE Manager to identify issues related to externally funded projects and develop proposals for advancing the research mission of the college. Serve as primary support for initiating and managing post-award research activities and expenditures.

Assist with pre-award functions including developing grant and contract budgets and justifications, establishing relationships with funding agencies and organizations, coordinating grant and contract submissions and awards through central systems, collaborating with faculty to facilitate development of externally funded projects, and providing back up support and troubleshooting for all grant related activities..

Work with multiple financial sectors across campus to improve the viability of multiple financial revenue streams (including Continuing and Professional Education, graduate revenue, centers, and externally funded projects) by collaboratively developing robust assessment models to advance future growth..

Approve and create purchase requisitions, contract for services, reimbursements and travel and other college level transactions..

Serve as the Procard manager and will reallocate Procard transactions for the college; liaison with department cardholders and the Controller's Office..

Proactively make recommendations for improving and implementing changes to practices and procedures to enhance the financial integrity of administrative and financial policies and practices within the College. Other Functions. Assist with any financial special projects as needed.

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Education, Experience, Certifications, Licensure). Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting or closely related field and 2 years' experience in financial management, budgeting and administration, preferably in an academic environment.
