About the Job:

  • The RN provides evaluation of assigned patients and plans, implements and documents nursing care.
  • Provides assistance to nursing peers as requested.
  • The Registered Nurse assists physicians during examinations and procedures.
  • The RN performs various patient tests and administers medications within the scope of practice of the registered nurse.
  • Promotes patients' independence by establishing patient care goals and teaching patients and families to understand conditions, medications, and self-care skills.
  • Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the nursing field.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • *Prior critical care or intensive care experience is needed*
  • Graduate of a nursing program is required
  • Must demonstrate ability to interpret basic EKG strips as evidenced by 80% or greater pass rate on initial exam or successful competency within six (6) weeks of hire date
  • Current Mississippi RN licensure is required
  • BLS is required; ACLS certification is required (or within 90 days of hire into the position)
  • PALS and CPI certification is strongly preferred.
