Thesuccessful candidate should be able to perform ALL of the followingfunctions at a pace and level of performance consistent with theactual job performancerequirements.

1. Conductspsychological screenings and assessments based on review ofavailable records, and clinical interviews withinmates.
2. Aspart of a mental health team, confers with other clinical staff,eg, psychiatrists, mental health service providers, physicians,nurses, social workers, in order to gather and provide informationconcerning patient psychological problems, to ensure treatmentactivities are well integrated, and patient care follow-throughoccurs.
3. Provides treatment to inmates by developing,implementing, and modifying individual treatment plans based onevaluation of needs and level offunctioning.
4. Makes regular rounds in segregation or other confinedhousing areas to assess inmate adjustment and mental healthtreatmentneeds.
5. Demonstrates a thorough knowledge of psychologicalcounseling theory and techniques by way of treatments andactivities used for individuals incaseload.
6. Provides appropriate mental health assessments,counseling, and confrontation avoidance interventions to addressthe needs of inmates incrisis.
7. Consults with psychiatry, mental health, nursing,medical, educational, chaplain, security staff, and others, asapplicable to gather information and understanding into the reasonsfor the escalation of problems behaviors and changes in mentalhealth condition ofinmates.

Qualifications:

• Graduate from an accredited college or university witha Doctoral degree inPsychology.
• Must possess a current, unrestricted license topractice psychology in the state where practice occurs.
• Must have two years clinical experience, which includesone year in a comparable position.
• Avalid driver's license is required.
• Minimum age requirement: Must be at least 18 years ofage.
